Questions

Stomach Bug IV, answered.

How long does the Stomach Bug IV take?

Session length may vary based on individual needs and flow rate, but most Stomach Bug IV sessions take approximately 45–60 minutes. Your nurse will review timing with you before starting.

Is the Stomach Bug IV safe?

All Stomach Bug IV treatments are administered by licensed medical professionals. Before your infusion, your nurse will review your health history and symptoms to ensure the IV is appropriate for you.

Can this help if I’m feeling nauseous or dehydrated?

The Stomach Bug IV is designed to support hydration, electrolyte balance, and comfort when oral intake is difficult. Ingredients and supportive medications may be included based on clinical assessment.

How much does the Stomach Bug IV cost?

$289, or $199 for IV Bird members. Travel is $1 per mile, round trip. Optional add-ons are additional.

Do you offer mobile Stomach Bug IV services in Austin?

Yes. IV Bird offers both in-clinic and mobile Stomach Bug IV services throughout the Austin area, allowing you to receive care from the comfort of your home, hotel, or office. Staying downtown? See mobile IV therapy in downtown Austin.

Will I feel anything during the infusion?

Most clients find the infusion gentle and well tolerated. Some people may notice a cool sensation at the IV site or mild sensations as fluids are administered. Your nurse will monitor you throughout the session.

Do I need to prepare before my appointment?

No special preparation is required. If possible, sip fluids beforehand and let your nurse know about current symptoms, medications, or recent illness so they can tailor your care appropriately.

Is the Stomach Bug IV right for everyone?

The Stomach Bug IV is designed for supportive hydration and comfort, but it may not be appropriate for everyone. A licensed nurse will review your health history to determine if this IV is a good fit.

When should I seek urgent care instead?

If you have blood in your vomit or stool, severe abdominal pain, a high fever, confusion, fainting, or you can’t keep any fluids down for more than a day, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. An IV at home is not a substitute for emergency care.

Do you have a clinic?

Yes. Our clinic is on Austin’s east side, just east of downtown: 1023 Springdale Rd, Building 8E, Austin, TX 78721. Clinic visits are by appointment only, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7 days a week. Call (512) 434-0651 to book. We’re not able to take walk-ins.
